If you ask me, we all need a little more silliness in our lives! Wouldn't you agree? All this talk about pig colds, and economic this and that, and depressing stories of families selling out their kids on reality shows can really make us do all kinds of unhealthy things like...

...lock oneself in the basement storage unit and refuse to come out til the next full moon.
...eat 12,431 bags of Oreo mini's in one sitting.
...cry til there's enough tears to drown a possum in a ten gallon hat.
...forget to feed the cats.
...sit in the corner and stare out the window as if there's no hope left in the world.

Well, I won't give in! I just won't! My husband and I are eternally silly, thankfully! Need proof? Just look at this picture of us from our recent trip to Yellowstone.

We look for reasons to be silly and giggle, or out and out belly laugh, wherever we are, even if it means embarrassing ourselves publicly from time to time, which we've been known to do (if you saw our Michael Jackson tribute dance last summer, you'll know what I'm talking about).

So I want to make YOU giggle too by giving you an opportunity to win my 2009 Sketch Book appropriately titled "This SketchBook Will Make You Giggle". It's 16 pages of artsy fartsy goodness featuring silly things I've drawn all year. The cover was taken from a recent lllustration Friday prompt, Flying, which I drew left handed (and btw, I'm NOT left-handed). And I'll hand color the cover too (as shown in the picture, for example). There's a purty color spread and it's bound with some yummy gold stringie stuff that I found in my craft drawer. Now hold onto your hats cuz here's the cool part. I will include an original hand drawn sketch inside personalized to you! And I promise, it'll make you giggle:)

What do YOU have to do? Just leave a comment and tell me what makes you giggle like there's no tomorrow! What makes you laugh til your sides ache, til your heart goes pitter pat? I think I just borrowed from a Felix the Cat theme song (no copyright infringement intended;) Leave your comment, I'll make you giggle. It's THAT easy! I'll pick a winner on October 29th. Get silly!

  1. My wife and I have found our 3 year old a constant source of humor and sillyness. We take much joy in the attempts of our son to control his world and his constant frustration that it is not working. He has the sillyest rambles, we probably shouldn't encourage by laughing, but it is the cutess thing ever. He uses his entire body to try and get his point across and he is so bloodly passionate about whatever it is he is saying (because he is rambling in gibberish). Below is a link to an example. We find so much joy in watching him grow up.

  2. What A cutie Patootie! You have a future collage professor on your hands there Chris! I've got the same source of giggles. Our four year old James has always been the comedian. He is so intense. We call him the next Robin Williams. Wish I had a better example of his silliness, But since Chris shared I've got to too. What is it about proud fathers?

  5. A friend and I once wore giant beehive wigs (one blue, the other pink) and animal print sunglasses (the oversized old-hollywood type). No...it wasn't halloween.

We just thought we'd shop in style - and get a few giggles in the process. :)

    hugs,
    Donna

  10. You are right Cyn and we need to giggle more in our lives. My animals make me giggle all the time. They do the cutest things and take away tons of stress.

  11. I try to keep a running inventory in my mind of things that made me laugh so I can always turn to them when I get stressed. One of my favorites: Some friends were having a pumpkin carving party at their house. We were all doing those detailed-type pumpkins with animals and vampires, not just simple jack o' lanterns. It was time consuming to get all the little details, and of course we were having a few cocktails while carving. One friend was about to make the final cut when the entire design fell out. She had carved around the wrong parts and was left with a gaping hole where there should've been a spooky cat. It was one of the most hysterical moments that kept us laughing all night.

  12. My dog Zoey makes me giggle. She is a miniature pinscher and when she sleeps, she sticks out her tongue. Sometimes it is really sticking out far! It is so funny. We laught at her all the time! I have a picture of her on my blog site. www.writingbybobbi.blogspot.com if you want to see her.

  13. I get really silly when i play with my cats! We are the cutest when we play together. They are what really make me smile! I sometimes catch myself and the way I talk when I am with them and think "wow, if anyone could hear me, they would think I am reaally crazy!"

  14. I have way too much sugar and just get super super hyper. Like rediculously hyper. Like running around the apartment giggling hyper. I think if anyone was actually around when I was like this, I'd probably be committed. Yeah, that hyper.
