I've been neglecting my blog! Horror of horrors, and I'm really so sorry! But I have a great excuse - I've been working like a mad man ...I mean mad woman to get some new pieces for my children's book portfolio. And this is my latest piece. I'm not even sure what inspired it. It was just one of those moments when the image flashed in my brain and hung out there a few days, begging to be brought to life with the magic of watercolor. I used some colored pencil to tighten up some edges and to add a bit of texture here and there. It's painted on Strathmore Cold Press. I use Holbein water colors and a tube or two of Senelier (my two favorite paints so far).
I love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm actually working on something quite similar, with sprawling tentacles creatures.
Must be something in the artistic water.
I totally adore this piece Cyn!
